Walking friends pitched in to deadhead the rhododendrons in the Big Rock Sculpture Park on June 9th. A good time was had by all. Thank to Susan Hirst for organizing the green thumbs!

Vancouver BC Trip – June 18th
Carola Anderson will lead a Special Walk to the Spanish Banks and Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC on Wednesday June 18
Description: Spanish Banks is a wonderful tidal, sandy beach on Burrard Inlet. This is the place all the locals go in the summertime. The path is hard dirt with loose gravel and completely flat. Walking east presents great views of downtown Vancouver and the North Shore.
Lunch at restaurant of your choice on 4th Avenue; followed by shopping or a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park.
This will be a full day excursion and members must RSVP with Carola to reserve a place.
June 11 – Special Walk at Padilla Bay

Virginia Reed will lead a special walk along the Padilla Bay Shore Trail followed by an excursion to La Conner for lunch and museum hopping.
The round-trip walk is 4 and 1/2 miles altogether. The group will carpool to La Conner to visit the Museum of Northwest Art and the Quilt Museum.
Group will meet at 9:00 AM for a 9:15 departure in the Whatcom Farmers Co-0p parking lot off Fairhaven Parkway. You must contact Virginia to reserve a place.

The Museum of Northwest Art, MoNA, 121 South First Street, La Conner, www.monamuseum.org is now free of charge for entry. The La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum, 703 2nd St. La Conner, www.laconnerquilts.com is $7 for nonmembers and $5 for groups of 8 or more (the group of 8 or more people must enter together in order to receive the discount).
