Rail Trail Historical Walk

Join us for our annual Winter City Walk!

This year we are doing a Rail Trail Historical Walk. We will be following the route laid out in the Rail Trail Walking Guide—a booklet published by the Bellingham Railway Museum. Our walk will start at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal where we will gather for a short orientation by Karl Kleeman, who co-authored the booklet with William Rink. Then we will head for the South Bay Trail and into downtown Bellingham ending at the Bus Terminal on Railroad Avenue. Along the 3.5 mile route, we will be looking at 35 historical signs that describe over 100 years of the railroads in our town and how they directly influenced industry and jobs.

Date: Tuesday, February 11 9:30 AM  (if rained out – move to March 4)

Group to meet at Maritime Park on Holly and arrange carpooling.

Please e-mail Harriet  or Susan Dean if you plan to attend or have questions.
