Special Walk in Anacortes

 Set for Monday, April 18, 2016 – special walk along the Tommy Thompson Trail in Anacortes 
We will start at the Cap Sante Marina in downtown Anacortes and turn around at March Point near the oil refineries. The last part of the walk is across the old railroad trestle with views of Fidalgo Bay, the surrounding islands, aquatic birds, and Mt. Baker, if it’s clear.
Trail stats: 6.6 miles RT, zero elevation gain, and 3 public restrooms along the way.
Meet at Sehome Shopping Center by 8:15 for an 8:30 departure. Park along the east side of the parking lot closest to 36th Street in front of Haggens and Rite Aid.

Carpool groups can decide if you are eating lunch out in Anacortes. 

Cookie Exchange – December 11

The 2015 Christmas cookie exchange will be on Friday, December 11, at Susan Hirst’s house following scheduled the walk.  If you are not able to walk, you may come to Susan’s house and join the party at 9:45 am.

Walkers will meet at Susan’s house,  1932 Rhododendron Way, to start the walk and follow the trail route to Haggen’s at Barkley Square and back again.  There is on-the-street parking; please leave the driveway clear.

If you wish to exchange cookies, bring 3 dozen cookies to share and containers to carry cookies home with you.  If you choose not to participate in the exchange, you’re welcome to bring a little food to share and join the party.

Docent Tour at Lightcatcher Museum

On Friday, Dec. 4th at noon Joan Ofteness will lead a tour of the exhibition Chipping the Block, Painting the Silk: the Color Prints of Norma Bassett Hall for Walking Friends.

For those who were unable to attend Martie Lopez’s recent tour of Unhinged: Book Art on the Cutting Edge, she will lead a tour of that exhibit at noon, and then she & Joan will switch groups at 12:30pm.

Museum admission is $6.00 for non-members.
