2018 – Larch Retreat at Mazama

The Hiker Chicks traveled to the Freestone Inn in Mazama for our 11th hiking retreat.  The timing couldn’t have been better…. we had perfect hiking weather under clear, sunny skies! Day one included a wonderful hike to glorious Blue Lake, check in at the Inn, followed by the traditional Hiker Chicks Happy Hour, dinner, and a guest speaker who shared a great deal of knowledge about Lark trees and so much more.  On the second day we broke into three groups and tackled Maple Pass Loop, Heather Meadows, or Cutthroat Trail.  All reported back at Happy Hour that they had wonderful experiences, including a bear sighting in close proximity.  Dinner was delicious, followed by hikers recounting many wonderful and very funny stories from past retreats. Needless to say, we can’t wait for next year!!   Organizing a retreat is on volunteer basis, so please come forward if you are willing, other hikers are always willing to join the efforts to plan a retreat.
