Time for trail maintenance work
Our Fall trail work party scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, — was postponed. Watch for an email message to advise you of the new date:
This will be more than just a work party – we will be helping at a new county park and trail ! It is near Sudden Valley and is called the Lookout Mountain Preserve Park/Trail.
Tom Chisholm, our Whatcom County park contact, will be bringing extra gloves, clippers, rakes, etc – but feel free to bring your own if you wish.
This is a fun social time with a by-product of helping to keep our local trails in good shape for walking.
DIRECTIONS: Travel east on Lakeway Drive and turn right on Lake Louise Road (as if driving to Stimson trail). Continue on until you see the sign for Gate 9 – the park is just opposite it. If the parking lot has not been completed, we are to park in the pullouts along Lake Louise Road. Carpooling would be a good idea.
